We had a very nice thanksgiving Mass of our Br. Pio OSB at his home parish, Holy Mary Coptic Catholic Church – Komombo in the diocese of Teeba on Friday,1 February 2019. Fr. Marcos OFM, who is the parish priest was the main celebrant. Homily was said by Br. Arsanius and also gave holy communion to the Christians assisted by Br. Bruno. It was a nice encounter with the parishioners before, during and after Mass.
Br. Arsanius, explained who the Benedictines are after he gave an interesting homily. Br. Bruno passed the greetings of our Abbot President Jeremias and of our Superior, Fr. Prior Maximilian on behalf of the community. He recognized the family of Br. Pio and said thanks to them. He introduced Br. Arsanius as the current Vocations Director, Br. Pio as the newly appointed Farm Manager at Ismailia and himself as the Cellarer, hence, all of them work together as a team with the superior. He also said that he was happy to be in Aswan because he was just studying in Geography and History but now he came to see by himself.
Br. Pio gave a vote of thanks for all. All were excited and took several photos with us at the conclusion of Mass. They were also so happy to receive our calendars, pamphlets and booklets.
