Our mission is focused on communal and personal prayer; and to follow the Rule of St. Benedict. Prayer and Work: Ora et Labora is balance that, when combined helps to define our monastic lives.

We, the Monks of St. Benedict of the Copts in Egypt seek God in the Community through life of prayer and work. Living in accordance with the Gospel and the Rule of St. Benedict.

Chapter 48 of the Rule of St. Benedict emphasizes the importance of work in the life of a monastic Community and describes the ways in which each member of the Community should contribute according to his talents and abilities. Work is key to the Benedictine spirituality because it is through creative and productive work that we become co-creators of the world with God. Living in accordance with the Gospel and the Rule of St. Benedict.

We value the uniqueness of an individual and the dignity of human labour. Hospitality to all whom we encounter. Being moderate in all aspects of life.
