Bishop Makarius Celebrates his Episcopal Anniversary in Ismailia
On Monday July 23rd 2018, His Lordship Right Reverend Makarius Tawfiq, the Bishop of Ismailia and Suez Canal region celebrated his episcopal ordination in our Monastery of St. Anthony the Great. To celebrate with his Lordship was a team of 105 faithful (Clergy, laity and the youth). To receive the first official guests since the blessing of our monastery were Bro. Arsanius OSB (on behalf of Fr. Maximilian OSB, who had taken a team of sisters on a pilgrimage to St. Anthony the Great along the Red Sea) and our Candidate Sameh. H. E Bishop Tawfiq recalled with nostalgia the day he blessed the new foundation emphasizing her central mission as a place for pilgrimage. Those who accompanied H. E could not hide their joy for finally having a Catholic monastery in their territory. It is our prayer that our new foundation offers this apostolate to God’s people searching God in the silence of monastic environment. We thank our two brothers for taking good care of these important guests.
